I´ve recently received a literature study (in Dutch) from Aniek Jehee. She has written a really interesting piece about Brands Loving Games. Within this study she writes about: Advergames/ Branded Games, Game Skinning and Sponsorships.

For many of us, within this sector of the gaming industry, these three titles are familiar. Apart from the fact that there are several different names being used to determine these three under laying disciplines of Game Marketing.

Literature Study

Her main question within this study was: How can a brand, by using advergames, effectively communicate with their target group/audience on short and long term?

Apart from her main question she has defined sub question to reach her goal. These sub questions are also answered within her study about advergaming:

Facebook: Farmville game

Game advertisement, Online Marketing | Posted by Koen Paquay

Just recently I´ve once again rejoined the community Facebook. The reason why, a very easy, fun and social game called: Farmville. This game is all about managing your own Farm; growing vegetables & fruit, keeping animals, harvesting and plowing the land. A real Social Media Game.

The reason this game is so much fun is because you don´t have to play it all the time. You can easily stop playing for 3 days and then harvest (depending on the planted vegetables). Apart from farming it´s fun to share the game with all your friends. If you wish to join me, and become my neighbor, at Facebook and play Farmville just visit me at: Koen Paquay (you need to login to Facebook).

Apart from playing this game it´s also great way to make use of Game advertisement. Imagine placing a unique item in the Farmville marketplace with your brand on it. Or even placing your product in the game to get to the next level.

Question: Which brands and/or products (easy one) would be ideal to implement in this game? Remember the product and the brand need to relate to the game to make it really successful. Give me your insights, I´m curious what you think.

Social Media: FaceBook

It´s not all about SEM anymore or even e-mails for that matter. Apart from that, just recently (1st of october) the law in the Netherlands has been changed in regards to sending e-mails to companies that you used to send e-mails too.

Check out OPTA (in regards to Tell-a-friend campaigns) and Spamklacht (about normal mailings).

Even though during this recession everyone is looking for ways to get more customers or more visitors to their sites the gouvernement isn´t making it easier. But there´s always an answer to still be able to reach what you had set out to accomplice.

The new kid on the block that will get more attention because of all the changes that have taken place is Social Media.
By using Social Media to connect with your customers and really give them what they are asking for, both sides will win and quality marketing will prevail. Because I´m in a helping mood check out: Facebook for business ebook, down below.

Communication of the 21ste century

Clay Shirky talks about how the internet has changed the way we communicate, but especially how communication has changed all over. When I look at what customers (big corporate companies) use the internet for and how they communicate with their target groups I can only say that things really need to change if they want to keep the power they´ve gotten used to.

We as consumers will get more and more power and everyone will become a competitor. Check out Clay Shirky´s talk on TED below:

Working during this Crisis

I recently discovered that I´m really busy even though there is a World Wide Crisis going on. I might even say busier than I ever have been. It got me thinking about how this could have come to be.

I´m no saint, but just straightforward with all my customers. They no what to expect and most of all what not to expect. So you could say that I´m able to manage their expectations pretty good. Yet I´m not so sure if this is the reason I´m still running like crazy. So therefore I would like to ask all my readers to fill in this small questionnaire about how you are doing during this time of crisis.

Wordt geladen…
